Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Head of Training and Competency Development to lead the design and deployment of a multi-year upskilling roadmap across multiple sites in France. The role requires building the training model and aligning it with strategic goals while fostering a culture of continuous learning.

You will oversee four in-house training centers, drive regulatory compliance, and develop global academies for managers, experts, and critical roles.

Qualifications

• 10 to 15 years of experience in training and/or competency development.
• Experience in an international industrial, technical, or engineering environment.
• Experience managing teams and multi-site organizations.
• Leadership, influencing, cross-functional collaboration, and change management skills.
• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
• Budget management experience and a performance-driven mindset.

• Oversee and optimize training budgets.
• Coordinate training teams and present results to leadership.

• Define and implement the training and competency development strategy
• Build a multi-year upskilling roadmap
• Define and deploy the training model and strategic priorities
• Align the training offering with the company’s strategy and operational needs
• Establish the training organization and foster a culture of continuous learning
• Oversee four in-house technical training centers in La Courneuve, Massy, Belfort, and Rugby
• Define development strategies and investment priorities for the centers
• Adapt the training offering to support increased production-site capacity
• Ensure pedagogical excellence and optimize infrastructure, equipment, and resources
• Develop technical upskilling pathways and offerings for external clients
• Design and lead functional, soft-skills, and leadership academies and training programs across 15 countries
• Develop pathways for managers, experts, high-potential talent, and critical roles
• Manage partnerships with training providers and institutions
• Promote innovative teaching methods and digital learning solutions
• Oversee and optimize training budgets
• Support operational leadership teams in identifying their development needs
• Define and manage France’s annual competency development plan
• Ensure regulatory compliance for mandatory training
• Coordinate and develop dedicated training teams
• Create and develop the trainer community
• Establish and manage performance indicators for the Training function
• Develop and optimize training tools and systems
• Regularly present results and action plans to executive leadership

Requirements

• 10 to 15 years of experience in training and/or competency development
• Experience in an international industrial, technical, or engineering environment
• Experience managing teams and multi-site organizations
• Experience leading large-scale transformation and competency development projects
• Ability to simplify complexity, structure a roadmap, and monitor its execution
• Business-oriented mindset
• Leadership, influencing, cross-functional collaboration, and change management skills
• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels
• Proficiency in English in an international environment
• Budget management experience, a performance-driven mindset, and a strong commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement
