Bonhams is seeking a Shipping Coordinator to support the Shipping Department across its European operations, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective movement of fine art pre and post sale.

You will manage export/import paperwork, liaise with 3rd party shippers, ensure compliance, and assist internal teams with shipping needs, while maintaining audit-ready records and coordinating with specialists, legal, finance and customer service.

Qualifications

• Ideally, you will be educated to degree standard or you will have experience working in a customer focused role within the art, auction of shipping industries
• eCustomer experience preferred
• Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and will be able to present information in a clear and concise manner
• You must have good reasoning skills and be able to analyse data and prepare reports
• Negotiations skills are also needed and the ability to influence others
• You will be required to work with industry standard computer packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
• Demonstrable experience in navigating organisational structures

Responsabilités

• Provide daily management / administration of export/import advices from 3PLs & internal teams
• Assist in maintaining Bonhams import/export database on smartsheet and ensure continuous standards are maintained
• Work to ensure Bonhams are always compliant and ‘audit ready’, also clearing the temporary export/import after each sale
• Provide detailed Temporary import/export instructions
• Provide source of import/export information and advice to Specialist Departments, Legal, Finance and customer service teams
• Obtain copies of declarations, track and manage export/import entries for Bonhams
• Match import/exports shipments against A3 contracts and add import rates details
• Obtain export licences, French passport, carnets ATA and CITES permits for imports/exports
• Support property movement for touring and special exhibitions
• Provide quotes for internal and pre or post sales shipping, alongside co-ordination with any 3rd party shippers
• Partner with other regional shipping teams and Departments to support property movement
• Provide support to Shipping Manager as requested
