Bonhams seeks a detail-oriented assistant for Handbag and fashion sales in Paris, supporting exports and client services. You will gather compliance documents, coordinate with experts, and help with cataloguing and shipping inquiries.

You will interact with VIP clients, manage documentation, and assist with event coordination while maintaining confidentiality and teamwork in a fast-paced auction environment.

Qualifications

• Interest in collectibles and first experience in this expertise field.
• Excellent word processing and spreadsheet skills (MS Word & Excel).
• Strong time management and organisational abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
• Flexible, team-oriented, and adaptable to a busy auction environment.
• Fluent in French and English; additional European language is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Assist on Handbag and fashion sales for Paris and export activity.
• Gather compliance documents and perform provenance procedures.
• Liaise with experts in Paris and abroad to provide client service.
• Handle client inquiries by phone and at the front desk.
• Coordinate with outside consultants after consignments are approved.
• Maintain property control and wrap items for handling.
• Catalogue property for sale and oversee departmental photography.
• Despatch property and shipping inquiries; assist with proofing catalogues.
• Support gallery setup and assist for press calls.
• Prepare condition reports and coordinate events as needed.
• Provide general office management; maintain records for customers and sales.
• Assist specialists with research and valuation reports.
