Job summary

Hyperion Robotics is building advanced 3D concrete printing systems to make construction more sustainable, scalable, and intelligent. We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Espoo, Finland, to own structural packages from concept through to DoP and CE marking.

You will lead design and analysis, use GSA or FEM tools, CAD/Rhino, and collaborate across robotics, production, and sales to deliver reliable, standards-compliant prefabricated elements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or closely related field.
• Experience in structural design and analysis, independent at senior level.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (GSA or FEM) and CAD/Rhino/Grasshopper.

Responsibilities

Work mode: Hybrid, with 1–2 days working from home

At Hyperion Robotics, we are building advanced 3D concrete printing systems to make construction more sustainable, scalable, and intelligent. Our Structural Engineering team plays a critical role in turning that vision into reliable real-world systems: designing, analyzing, certifying, and deploying 3D-printed concrete elements across projects in Finland, the UK, and future deployments across Europe.

We are now looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join us in Espoo, Finland. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys taking full ownership of structural engineering packages from the ground up together with the team - from preliminary structural concepts, CAD and Rhino/Grasshopper modeling, and finite element analysis (GSA/FEM) to Eurocode compliance, detailed calculation reports, and site testing. You will work in a collaborative team environment with regular technical discussions, cross‑disciplinary design reviews, and shared problem‑solving alongside our robotics, production, and sales teams.

This role is ideal for an experienced structural engineer who is completely independent in their engineering work, eager to mentor less senior engineers, and motivated to bridge technical design with commercial impact.

What It Means In Practice:

• Leading the structural design and analysis of prefab printed elements, reinforcement layouts, and 3D-printed formwork in strict compliance with Eurocodes and EN standards
• Authoring, reviewing, and validating comprehensive calculation reports and technical documentation packages for key client initiatives
• Performing detailed structural calculations, including load paths, soil-structure interactions, stability, and serviceability assessments
• Updating and expanding Hyperion’s entire structural product catalogue to create a standardized library of 3D-printable products and elements
• Taking full ownership of structural engineering work packages across R&D initiatives and client projects, optimizing concepts for cost, manufacturability, durability, and sustainability
• Responding to client technical questions with a helpful, service-oriented mindset that builds trust and clarity
• Preparing and leading Factory Production Control (FPC) and CE-marking documentation, including Declarations of Performance (DoP), Initial Type Testing (ITT), and compliance certificates
• Collaborating closely with the Sales team to perform structural feasibility and cost assessments for client proposals.
• Supervising laboratory material testing, site testing activities, and supporting external audits with certification bodies
• Mentoring junior engineers, participating in design reviews, and contributing to internal engineering standards and knowledge repositories

To Succeed In This Role, We Expect:

• You have a degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field
• You have solid professional experience in structural design and analysis, operating independently at a senior level
• You are proficient in structural analysis software (preferably GSA or equivalent FEM tools) and skilled with CAD and Rhino/Grasshopper
• You can produce and validate complete construction drawings, reinforcement schedules, and signed calculation reports with minimal supervision
• You have experience owning the structural scope of a system or project, bringing a pragmatic problem‑solving mindset and high reliability under tight deadlines
• You communicate clearly in both verbal and written form, and can explain structural decisions, risks, and technical documentation in a way that cross‑functional engineers and external stakeholders can follow
• You have a strong working knowledge of Eurocodes (including EN 14991, EN 206) and geotechnical interactions (soil‑structure interface, foundation design)
• You bring a growth mindset - being humble, hungry, smart, and open to giving and receiving feedback

It is a great plus if:

• It is a plus if you have an understanding of BIM tools, as well as hands‑on experience with material testing, FPC documentation, and CE-marking processes

• You have experience with or a strong interest in digital fabrication, 3D concrete printing, and advanced precast manufacturing techniques
