Job summary

Polar Electro seeks a Senior Researcher, Algorithms for the Content Creation team in Finland. You will help advance algorithm solutions for wearable sports, fitness, and wellness by collaborating with scientists, engineers, and designers.

Requirements include a Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field, strong Python, time-series and signal processing skills, and excellent English communication. The role supports a hybrid work model across Finland’s Polar offices, with Kempele headquarters preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering, biophysics, mathematics, or health sciences.
• Experience in development of algorithms and computational methods.
• Solid programming skills in Python.
• Experience with time-series data and signal processing.
• Collegial attitude and good communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop algorithms using biosignals and inertial data for new Polar Smart Coaching solutions with multidisciplinary teams.
• Investigate and innovate Polar features and applications in internal and collaborative projects.
• Design and supervise data collection studies for algorithm R&D.
• Report findings on algorithm performance and feasibility.
