Job summary

Polar Electro is seeking a Senior Researcher, Algorithms for the Content Creation team to advance wearable sports, fitness, and wellness solutions. You will work with researchers, designers, and engineers to transform scientific knowledge into practical innovations for customers worldwide.

The role requires a Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant field, strong Python programming skills, and experience with time-series data and signal processing. Hybrid work across Finland offices is available.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., biomedical engineering, biophysics, mathematics, health sciences).
• Experience in developing algorithms and computational methods.
• Solid programming skills in Python.
• Experience with time-series data and signal processing.
• Collegial attitude and good communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop algorithms using biosignals and inertial data for Polar Smart Coaching solutions with a multidisciplinary team.
• Investigate and innovate new Polar features and applications in research projects.
• Design and supervise data collection studies for algorithm research and development.
• Report research findings including algorithm performance and feasibility.
