Job summary

Polar is seeking a Senior Researcher, Algorithms to advance smart coaching solutions. You will design and evaluate algorithms using biosignals and time-series data in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team across Polar offices in Finland.

The role combines research, data collection design, and reporting findings to enable next-generation wearable health and fitness devices. Hybrid work is supported, with Kempele HQ preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, biophysics, mathematics, or health sciences.
• Experience in development of algorithms and computational methods.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience with time-series data and signal processing.
• Excellent English communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop algorithms using biosignals and inertial data for new Polar Smart Coaching solutions.
• Investigate and innovate new Polar feature and application possibilities in research projects.
• Design and supervise data collection studies for algorithm research and development.
• Report research findings including algorithm performance and feasibility.
