Job summary

GagaMuller Group is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager / Owner’s Representative to lead mechanical workstreams on a major project in Finland. The role requires representing the client on site, ensuring alignment between mechanical scope and the overall delivery programme.

You will collaborate daily with CSA, Electrical ORs, design teams, and the PMC team, guiding submittals, RFIs, installation progress, and commissioning readiness while maintaining safety and quality across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Relevant mechanical qualification (masters or bachelor’s in engineering).
• Experience in project management.
• Experience dealing with industrial relations issues.
• Knowledge of health and safety practices and regulations.
• Background in design-and-build construction, with exposure to commercial, industrial, pharma or data centre projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary client-facing representative for all mechanical works on the project.
• Oversee procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Review and approve submittals, RFIs, shop drawings and installation details for technical compliance.
• Coordinate with electrical, CSA, ICT, controls/BMS, and vendor requirements to ensure integrated delivery.
• Monitor schedule progress and identify recovery actions where deviations occur.
• Support quality inspections, ITP execution, mock-ups, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate with CxA to confirm readiness, prerequisites, milestones and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and client standards, including safety and commissioning requirements.
• Participate in site walks, interface meetings, risk reviews and design coordination workshops.
• Assist handover with validated as-builts, O&M manuals and system documentation.

Mechanical Project Manager / Owner’s Representative

Role Description

The Mechanical Project Manager / Owner’s Representative (OR) is responsible for leading, coordinating, and overseeing all mechanical workstreams on the project, acting on behalf of the client to ensure the Mechanical scope of the General Contractor (GC), specialist subcontractors, and mechanical equipment vendors deliver in full accordance with the project’s design, schedule, quality, and commercial requirements.

In this role, you will represent the client’s interests on site and throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring full alignment between mechanical scope execution and the wider multidisciplinary delivery programme. You will collaborate daily with the CSA and Electrical ORs, the Design Team, Commissioning Authority (CxA), and the wider PMC team across quality, schedule, cost, and design. The Mechanical PM/OR will ensure the mechanical works are executed safely, meet all technical specifications, and are fully coordinated with other trades. You will proactively manage contractor performance, submittals, RFIs, installation progress, commissioning readiness, interface points, logistics, and handover requirements. You will support the establishment of project processes, monitor compliance, and ensure that risks, issues, and deviations are escalated and resolved promptly.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the primary client-facing representative for all mechanical works.
• Overseeing GC delivery performance in planning, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning for all mechanical installations.
• Ensure all mechanical submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and installation detailing are reviewed and approved by the respective team for completeness and technical compliance.
• Ensuring mechanical works are coordinated with electrical, CSA, ICT, controls/BMS, and OFCI vendor requirements.
• Monitoring progress against schedule and identifying recovery actions where deviations occur.
• Supporting the Quality Lead by supervising mechanical quality inspections, ITP execution, mock‑ups, and issue resolution.
• Coordinating with the CxA to confirm system readiness, testing prerequisites, milestones, and documentation deliverables.
• Ensuring mechanical systems meet all local regulatory, design, and client standards, including safety and commissioning requirements.
• Participating in site walks, interface meetings, risk reviews, and design/coordination workshops.
• Supporting handover by validating mechanical as‑builts, O&M manuals, training materials, punch lists, and system documentation.

Qualifications

• Relevant Mechanical Qualification essential e.g. master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Previous experience in Project Management.
• Experience dealing with Industrial Relations issues.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety.
• Experienced in Design and Build Construction environment with experience in Commercial, Industrial, Pharma or Data Centre type projects.
• Good technical knowledge of both Electrical and Mechanical systems.

Candidates are required to be on‑site full‑time.
