Job summary

Microsoft Oy is seeking a results-driven Lead Project Manager to direct end-to-end delivery of hyperscale data center construction programs in Finland. You will drive planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement across engineering, operations, and procurement, ensuring on-time completion, budget adherence, and high safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, electrical engineering or construction management, or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience in managing large, complex MEP-based construction projects.
  • Directly managed contracts worth 150–300 million euros.
  • Experience mentoring and leading construction/engineering staff.
  • Experience delivering hyperscale data centre projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical/MEP systems (HV/LV power, HVAC, UPS, generators, BMS, EPMS).
  • Experience with change and incident management.
  • Review submittal packages and Factory Witness Testing (FWT).
  • General contractor and vendor management (RFPs, bidding, change orders).
  • Strong leadership to ensure environmental, quality, and safety compliance.

Job description

Lead the end-to-end delivery of large‑scale data center construction projects, from site due diligence and planning through execution and closeout. Partner with engineering, operations, cost management, and construction teams to develop delivery strategies, manage project risks, and ensure successful outcomes. Manage project schedules, resources, and critical milestones, implementing mitigation and acceleration plans to maintain predictable delivery performance. Oversee contractor, vendor, and stakeholder engagement, including procurement activities, commercial management, and performance accountability. Lead and develop project management teams, providing coaching, goal setting, performance management, and delivery oversight across multiple projects. Monitor project financials, reporting, and governance, ensuring effective budget management, change control, forecasting, and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent engineering science OR significant related senior construction management experience in lieu of a degree.

Solid experience in construction management of large, complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plants.

Directly managing contract range between 150million – 300million Euros.

Significant experience directly managing, mentoring, leading, and coaching construction management and/or commissioning professionals.

Solid experience in hiring, promoting, disciplining, and developing teams of professional construction/engineering staffs.

Noteworthy recent experience delivering full life cycle hyperscale Data Centre projects.

Strong detailed understanding of electrical and mechanical principle to actively support vendors, contractors and other teams involved in the construction and commissioning of various systems such as; High, Medium and low voltage power systems, Generators, Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS’s), Air Conditioning HVAC, Exhaust Fans, Chilled Water Systems, Building Management systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Testing and balancing and Pumps and Hydronic systems, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS’s) and Transformers.

In-depth knowledge and experience of change / incident management.

Capability to review component submittal packages, understand requirements for Factory Witness Testing (FWT).
