Job summary

Saab Finland is seeking an Environmental Qualification Engineer to collaborate with Systems Engineers to define EMC and environmental requirements for electronic warfare systems. You will translate those into qualification and compliance tests, lead campaigns, and support test-system definitions.

The role sits in the Product Testing team in Tampere, offering a flexible work arrangement and strong focus on a safe, collaborative culture. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in EMC and environmental qualification testing of products.
• Experience in EMC and environmental compliance management of products.
• Basic project management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with design teams and stakeholders.
• Fluent Finnish and English (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Compliance test planning and test cases definition for Saab Finland electronic warfare products.
• EMC & environmental requirements management.
• Product qualification test campaign planning, execution and reporting in collaboration with test labs and stakeholders.
• Participating in the definition of acceptance criteria together with Systems Engineering.
• Completion of qualification test milestones within agreed timeframes.

Your role

As an Environmental Qualification Engineer , your goal is to work together with the Systems Engineers to define EMC and environmental requirements for Electronic Warfare systems, translate these requirements to qualification and/or compliance test cases as well as requirements for test systems, and lead qualification test campaigns.

Environmental Qualification is a part of the Product Testing team. The Testing team at Saab Finland is responsible for software and hardware testing, system testing, field testing, and product qualification tests. The team has low hierarchy and an open and friendly working culture with both seasoned veterans and eager newcomers working to keep society and people safe.

Responsibilities include:

• Compliance test planning and test cases definition for Saab Finland electronic warfare products

• EMC & environmental requirements management

• Product qualification test campaign planning, execution and reporting in collaboration with test labs and other stakeholders

• Participating to the definition of acceptance criteria together with Systems Engineering

• Completion of qualification test milestones within agreed timeframes

Your profile

Essential skills and experience:

• Experience in EMC and environmental qualification testing of products

• Experience in EMC and environmental compliance management of products

• Fluent (both orally and in writing) in Finnish and in English

• Ability and willingness to travel up to 25 % of time

Desired skills and experience:

• Experience in defence, aerospace or other tightly regulated industries

• Experience in Military Environmental compliance standards such as MIL std 810

• Experience in Military EMC compliance standards such as MIL std 461

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline

In this job, some of your tasks have a connection to defence secrecy. Therefore, a drug test and approved security clearance in accordance with the Finnish Security Clearance act 726/2014 is required for the selected applicant.

The salary range for this position is €4000–€5500 per month , depending on the experience and qualifications.
