Welcome to the naval side of life! We are looking for Service Engineer to join in our mission to create striking performance – the 9LV Combat System.
We provide commissioning and field service on Saab 9LV combat systems. We work in all phases of a project, from commissioning, setting to work, training, acceptance to support after system delivery. You will collaborate with experienced engineers and professionals in an environment that fosters career development and personal growth. With us, you will work with exciting technology in advanced and complex systems. Our products are used on marine platforms (platforms above and below the water surface) and have the task of compiling information from sensors, data links and weapon systems in order to give the operator the best opportunity to make the right decision.
Your Role You will take part in projects from initial commissioning to final delivery of a ship as well as surveys on upcoming midlife upgrades and support activities for delivered systems. The role is multi-disciplinary and dynamic and your task will vary during the progress of the project.
As a Service Engineer, you will work in close cooperation with System Engineers and Software Integrators from Saab as well as working with technical representatives of the various sub-supplier organizations and shipyards. Service Engineers are the ones responsible for getting the system installed and the ship up and running. We can promise that your days will be varied and filled with opportunities to demonstrate your problem-solving abilities. The position will require travels mainly within Finland as well internationally, depending on the program phase and requirements. The position also contains an onboarding period which will contain travelling abroad, mainly to Sweden
You are a fluent communicator both in Finnish and English. You share information in a clear and easy way, verbally and in writing. You have a collaborative mind-set and you are a true team player. You are self-driven with a “get the job done” attitude. Curiosity and the ability to learn new technical areas are necessary attributes for the role. We believe that you have a solid technical background with a wide technical knowledge base and interest.
In this job, some of your tasks have a connection to defence secrecy. Therefore, a drug test and approved security clearance in accordance with the Finnish Security Clearance Act (726/2014) are required for the selected applicant. Depending on the nature of the assignments, additional country-specific security clearances, including those required by Swedish authorities, may also be required.
