SAAB's Business Unit Surveillance in Finland is seeking a Project Manager to lead the implementation and commissioning of Naval Combat Systems on a ship platform. You will drive delivery from design to final acceptance, coordinating sensors, CMS, and platform integration.
The role requires travel to Saab Sweden and shipyard presence, fluent in Finnish and English, and strong leadership of cross-functional teams and risk management to meet time, budget, and quality targets.
The Business Unit Surveillance is looking for a Project Manager (PM) to lead the implementation and commissioning phase of our Naval Combat Systems in Finland.
As a Project Manager, you carry the overall responsibility for the successful delivery and commissioning of the integrated Combat System (CS), ensuring that all sensors, weapon systems, and the Combat Management System (CMS) are fully operational on the ship platform. The role is a senior position where you manage the project's transition from the design phase to integration and acceptance on the ships up to the project’s final acceptance. You are responsible for ensuring that the project is delivered successfully as per agreements with regards to time, budget, scope, and quality, with a specific focus on ensuring the integrated CS is fully prepared for final acceptance.
To success in this role, you understand the complexities of system-to-platform integration and the importance of coordinating multiple stakeholders, including the shipyard, the customer, and internal technical teams. You enjoy the challenge of leading the final verification phases of a project and enabling teams to perform the installation, set-to-work, and acceptance testing in a creative and dynamic atmosphere.

You are a confident communicator in both Finnish and English. You share information in a clear and easy way, verbally and in writing. You have a collaborative mindset, and you are a true team player! You are comfortable leading challenging negotiations and managing expectations towards the customer and external partners.
In this job, some of your tasks have a connection to defence secrecy. Therefore, a drug test and approved security clearance in accordance with the Finnish Security Clearance Act (726/2014) are required for the selected applicant. Depending on the nature of the assignments, additional country-specific security clearances, including those required by Swedish authorities, may also be required.
