Job summary

Cititec is seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager to lead the design coordination for a hyperscale data centre project in Helsinki, Finland. The role focuses on managing MEP design deliverables, coordinating between client, designers and subcontractors, and ensuring timely design handover to the project team.

You will guide QA processes, support BIM coordination, and oversee review of construction and shop drawings to maintain high standards throughout the construction phase.

Qualifications

• Experience in MEP design coordination/approval, site inspection and commissioning processes.
• Understanding of fire protection and building physics with strong spatial imagination.
• Proficient in BIM and CAD; capability in digital design management.

Responsibilities

• Manage MEP design deliverables in line with construction requirements and client specs.
• Coordinate MEP design matters among client, design consultants, subs and project team.
• Oversee design milestones related to quality, coordination and changes; QA per contracted scope.
• Lead design meetings with clients, consultants and sub-contractors.
• Handover MEP design packages to project team and ensure construction info availability.
• Support project team with design information for construction and BIM coordination.
• Review and control construction drawings, shop drawings and submittals.
• Manage as-built design package with project team and site quality checks.

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager to join a global leading general contractor on a hyperscale data centre construction project in Helsinki, Finland.

Key Responsibilities

• Management of MEP design deliverables in accordance with construction requirements and Client’s requirements
• Coordination of all MEP design matters between the key project stakeholders - client, specialist designers, sub contractors and project team
• Management of key milestone deliverables for completion in relation to quality of design, implementation and coordination of design changes including Quality Assurance in accordance with the design consultants’ contracted scope of services
• Design meetings with clients, consultants, and sub-contractors
• Design Handover of MEP design packages to MEP project team
• Communication and support for project Team in terms of all necessary design information for construction
• Support BIM Team in terms of BIM Coordination process
• Review and control of the construction drawings, shop drawings and technical submittals
• Management of As-built design Package with project team
• Quality control during construction via site visit
• Report the weekly/monthly design status

Key skills

• Several experiences of MEP design coordination/approval, site inspection and commissioning processes
• Good understanding in the field of fire protection and building physics as well as a good spatial imagination.
• Good knowledge in the use of BIM and CAD programs as well as in the field of digital management
• Solution-oriented thinking, negotiating skills as well as a good feel for people and issues and strong communication skills.
• Safe application of building standards and guidelines.
