Job summary

Tampere University, in Finland, invites applications for a Research Assistant to perform bioinformatic and statistical analyses of genetics, omics and clinical data related to obesity. The role is tied to the BETTER4U project and involves international collaboration in biomedical informatics.

We seek a Master’s holder in bioinformatics or related field with strong R skills, experience in big data/omics and fluent English, working under experienced researchers in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in bioinformatics or closely related field.
• Statistical methods knowledge and proficiency in R.
• Strong experience or interest in big data and omics data analysis.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Implement bioinformatics/statistical methods for analysis of multi-omics and clinical data in a large cohort, in an integrative manner.
• Work under the supervision of post-doctoral researchers with extensive expertise in Biomedical informatics.
• Contribute to international projects within the BETTER4U EU initiative to build expertise in biomedical informatics.
