Job summary

University of Oulu invites applications for a fixed-term Biostatistician in the Lifecourse Medicine and Birth Cohort Research Group. The role focuses on data management, statistical analyses, and collaboration with colleagues across diverse data types.

You will contribute to data access, governance, and training, and may help shape research questions and publish findings. The position is based in Oulu with multi-location and remote work options.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in statistics, mathematics or bioinformatics.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Very good familiarity with at least one commonly used statistical software.
• Experience in data management and statistical analysis with large quantitative datasets.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for data management including cleaning, harmonisation and documentation of analysis datasets.
• Contribute to design of data management solutions for efficiency and security.
• Handle data access and ethics applications and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to research and statistical analysis plans; conduct analyses and document methods.
• Provide training on data management and data analysis to group members.
• Participate in related activities of the research group.
• Learn new statistical methods and data management approaches.
• Potentially contribute to formulating research questions and writing papers.
