Job summary

The University of Oulu seeks a biostatistician to join the Lifecourse Medicine and Birth Cohort Research Group at the Clinical Medicine Research Unit. You will manage data from diverse sources and perform statistical analyses to advance lifelong health outcomes.

This fixed-term position runs from 1.12.2026 to 31.12.2029, with MV08–MV09 level salary and a starting gross of 3,300–4,200 EUR per month, plus a potential 50% performance-based component. Applicants from all backgrounds are welcome.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in statistics, mathematics, or bioinformatics.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Experience with large quantitative datasets.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for data management, cleaning, harmonisation and documentation.
• Prepare analysis datasets from diverse data types.
• Design data management solutions with emphasis on security.
• Handle data access and ethics applications.
• Conduct statistical analyses and document methods.
• Train group members in data management and analysis.
• Learn new statistical methods and expand skills.
• Contribute to research plans and writing papers.
