Job summary

Siemens Gamesa, a global leader in wind energy technology, seeks a Structural Design Engineer to contribute to the R&D Drivetrain team. You will drive structural integrity, perform FE analyses, and advise on design concepts for wind turbine components.

This role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration to produce robust, certifiable solutions. You will collaborate with a diverse project team from concept through validation, supporting production and validation campaigns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in product development and structural design.
• Advanced proficiency in FEA software such as Ansys, Workbench, APDL, and Abaqus.
• Familiarity with Teamcenter Siemens PLM and the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC is a plus.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Ensure released component designs meet structural integrity requirements within cost and size constraints.
• Own structural calculations and documentation in collaboration with designers.
• Advise designers on concepts and details to improve quality.
• Prepare project deliverables including modeling and calculation reports and support certification bodies.
