Job summary

Siemens Gamesa in Navarra seeks a Structural Design Engineer to join its R&D Drivetrain team. You will lead structural design efforts for wind turbine components, performing FE analyses and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams from concept through validation.

The role emphasizes ownership of calculations, collaboration with global peers, and clear English communication, with impact on cost, weight, and performance across onshore wind projects.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• At least 5 years of product development and structural design experience.
• Advanced proficiency in FEA software: Ansys, Workbench, APDL, Abaqus.
• Familiarity with Teamcenter Siemens PLM and Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC is a plus.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Release component designs meeting structural integrity requirements within cost and size constraints.
• Own structural calculations and documentation with designers to ensure integrity.
• Provide guidance on design concepts and details to enhance project quality.
• Prepare reports (MCR) and support certification bodies by correlating FE models with tests.
