Job summary

Welocalize Life Sciences seeks an experienced localization professional to manage translation and copy-editing tasks for assigned accounts. You will coordinate with freelancers and internal linguists, maintain language resources, and resolve terminology queries to ensure high-quality outputs.

The role also involves acting as lead linguist on accounts, training teams, and collaborating with clients to improve workflows and quality.

Qualifications

• University degree in Translation/Applied Languages or equivalent combination of education and experience (University degree in other fields plus 2 years of full time experience in translation; OR 5 years of full time professional experience in translating).
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Native fluency in TARGET language.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in translation/localization/editing or content writing.
• 5+ years of review experience.
• Excellent knowledge of terminology used across varied subjects.
• Experience with CAT tools such as XTM, SDL Studio and issue tracking tools like JIRA.
• Able to learn new localization tools quickly.
• Proficient with Windows and Office.
• Strong feedback, coordination and client interaction skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and in virtual teams.

Responsibilities

• Managing translation and copy-editing tasks with high-quality deliverables.
• Coordinating with freelancers, agencies and internal linguists on projects.
• Maintaining language resources, glossaries and style guides.
• Resolving terminology queries and collaborating with clients and teams.
• Leading linguist role on assigned accounts and owning translations.
• Testing and qualifying new freelancers and vendors as required.
• Developing and training internal linguists and freelancers.
• Interacting with clients on linguistic matters as needed.
• Proposing process improvements and contributing to KPI attainment.
• Ensuring timely deliveries and quality across projects.
