Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Python Developer to build and scale an event-driven integration platform with APIs, resilience mechanisms, and GenAI-powered integrations.

You will design contract-first interfaces, manage a durable event log, and ensure exactly-once processing across distributed ITSM-like workflows, while embracing modern AI-assisted tooling and test-driven development.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of production experience with Python, with typed, tested services and APIs
• Strong grasp of event-driven, asynchronous architecture and durable logs
• Experience designing REST APIs and OpenAPI; familiarity with AsyncAPI
• Experience with Kafka or equivalent streaming platform
• Familiarity with GenAI-assisted development and AI coding agents
• Testing discipline using pytest and contract testing; CI/CD pipelines
• Proficient in Linux, Git, and containerized environments
• Strong communication to explain architectural trade-offs to a global audience

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve a Python service handling observation/intent/outcome event taxonomy
• Design and maintain interfaces using OpenAPI and AsyncAPI
• Create the correlation layer to map signals to ITSM actions, ensuring exactly-once processing
• Implement platform resilience and safe recoverability when upstream systems degrade
• Support multiple access patterns: fire-and-forget, submit-and-poll, webhooks, streaming
• Develop event type registry and self-service onboarding for teams
• Build GenAI-facing surfaces for agent skills and tool-calling
• Modernize legacy integrations via managed deprecation paths
• Own end-to-end quality: code reviews, testing, observability, production support
• Participate in squad ceremonies and customer meetings; document major decisions
