Elastic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Elasticsearch - Distributed Systems team, focusing on scale, performance, and resilience, especially in our Serverless offering. You will tackle deep distributed systems challenges in how Elasticsearch nodes communicate, and how data are indexed, allocated, and managed across nodes.

Leverage your distributed systems expertise to build and operate core pieces of our next-generation Serverless Elasticsearch, impacting customers worldwide.

Formación

• Deep expertise in building scalable distributed systems and consensus protocols.
• Strong proficiency in Java, concurrency primitives, and data structures.
• Experience with high-performance, asynchronous architectures and distributed indexing.
• Proven ability to own projects end-to-end and collaborate across teams.

Responsabilidades

• Tackle deep distributed systems challenges in how Elasticsearch nodes communicate and data is indexed and managed.
• Build and operate core components of our Serverless Elasticsearch offering.
• Improve components that support concurrent and consistent indexing across machines.
• Maintain cluster coordination to preserve performance amid node churn and data movement.
• Push the limits on shards, nodes, and petabytes handled today.
• Investigate performance and concurrency issues and propose solutions.
• Support engineers with complex problems and own investigations end-to-end.
