Elastic is seeking a Principal Software Engineer I for the Elasticsearch - Distributed Systems team. You will focus on scale, performance, and resilience, owning features across multi-node clusters and large data sets.

You will drive concurrent indexing, cluster coordination, and data distribution optimizations, collaborating with engineers across multiple teams to deliver impactful enhancements.

Formación

• Strong background in distributed systems and consensus algorithms.
• Excellent Java proficiency and knowledge of data structures and concurrency.
• Experience working on highly distributed systems with broad impact.

Responsabilidades

• Improve Elasticsearch components for concurrent and consistent indexing across multiple machines.
• Maintain cluster coordination to keep performance high as nodes come and go.
• Push limits on shards, nodes and petabytes supported today.
• Investigate performance or concurrency issues and propose solutions.
• Support our support engineers with complex problems.
