Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Elasticsearch - Distributed Systems team. You will tackle deep distributed systems challenges in how nodes communicate, data indexing, allocation and management across nodes, with a focus on the Serverless offering.

You will own projects end-to-end, collaborate across teams, and push the system to scale while maintaining safety, liveness, and performance.

Formación

• Deep background in distributed systems and consensus algorithms.
• Strong core Java skills and knowledge of data structures and concurrency.
• Ability to work on complex, highly distributed systems and own features end-to-end.
• Proven track record of using AI to accelerate development and optimise code.

Responsabilidades

• Build and operate core pieces of the serverless Elasticsearch offering.
• Improve components for concurrent and consistent indexing across multiple machines.
• Maintain cluster coordination for dynamic node changes while preserving safety and liveness.
• Push limits on shards, nodes, and data scales in Elasticsearch.
• Investigate performance and concurrency issues and propose solutions.
• Support engineers on hard problems and own end-to-end investigations until resolved.
