Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a Principal Java Engineer for the Elasticsearch - Distributed Systems team, focusing on scale, performance, and resilience in our Serverless offering. You will tackle deep distributed systems challenges in cross-node communication, indexing, and data management.

You will own end-to-end features, improve indexing reliability, and push the system to handle more shards, nodes, and data while keeping safety and liveness intact across the cluster.

Formación

• Deep background in distributed systems and consensus algorithms.
• Strong skills in core Java and data structures/concurrency.
• Experience building large-scale distributed systems with multi-machine deployments.
• Ability to own projects from design to delivery and collaborate across teams.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and operate core pieces of our Serverless Elasticsearch offering.
• Improve components supporting concurrent and consistent indexing across machines.
• Maintain cluster coordination to keep performance and resilience.
• Push the limits on shards, nodes, and petabytes handled today.
• Investigate performance and concurrency issues and propose solutions.
• Support engineers with hard problems and own end-to-end investigations.
