Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of a partner company, is seeking an Accountant based in Spain to own the accounts payable process and contribute to the full accounting cycle across an international group of entities in a digital asset environment.

You will coordinate monthly closings, intercompany reconciliations, and tax compliance while collaborating with external firms. The role emphasizes internal controls, process improvements, and autonomy in a remote, international finance team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Approximately 5 years accounting experience, ideally with an initial background in Big Four audit or accounting outsourcing.
• Experience with multi-entity organizations, intercompany accounting, and preferably group consolidation.
• Hands-on Accounts Payable experience, including invoice processing, payment preparation, supplier reconciliations, and approval workflows.
• Familiarity with VAT and corporate tax compliance; international cross-border VAT experience is a plus.
• Experience preparing for and supporting external audits; compiling documentation and responding to auditor requests.
• Proficiency with accounting software and strong Excel skills; familiarity with Xero and ApprovalMax is advantageous.
• Ability to manage routine and complex accounting tasks independently with accuracy and consistency.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; proactive and organized work style.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end accounts payable process including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payments.
• Manage general ledger entries, accruals, prepayments, and other adjustments.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities with external firms.
• Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations; investigate discrepancies.
• Manage intercompany reconciliations and settlements across entities.
• Support VAT and other tax compliance across jurisdictions.
• Prepare supporting documentation for audits and assist with audits.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls and streamline processes.
• Collaborate across the full accounting cycle with remote, international teams.
• Work with external service providers to meet reporting deadlines.
