Job summary

Esko is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to lead accounting operations from a fully remote setup across Spain. The role covers budgeting, forecasting, audits, and strategic financial insights for senior management, ensuring compliance with Spanish GAAP and IFRS.

You will manage a distributed team, implement robust controls, and optimize processes while coordinating with external auditors and tax authorities as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification (CPA or ACCA) highly preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in accounting/finance with controller or senior accounting leadership.
• Proven experience with Spanish GAAP and IFRS; strong knowledge of internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including AP, AR, GL, and payroll.
• Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Spanish GAAP and IFRS.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and internal controls to improve efficiency.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis; lead the accounting team.
• Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
