Nippon Gases is offering an Operations Packaged Gases Intern position based in Madrid, at the European Headquarters. You will support strategic projects, automation and digitalization initiatives, acting as a bridge between Operations, IT and Digitalization to drive data‑driven improvements.

The role emphasizes collaboration across teams, development of planning tools and contributing to technology‑driven initiatives.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Engineering degree in chemical engineering, industrial engineering or related field.
  • Fluent English. Other European languages would be a plus.
  • No prior professional experience required, although academic projects or internships in analytics or data‑related roles will be valued.

Responsabilidades

  • Support strategic projects, strategic tools and automations, linking packaged gases projects with IT and Digitalization Department.
  • Assist in implementing plant automation projects to improve operational efficiency, safety and reliability.
  • Contribute to development and enhancement of production planning and scheduling tools to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Identify and support automation, digitalization, and data‑driven improvement opportunities within operations.
  • Collaborate with PAG team members on strategic and operational projects across the department.

Job description

The Operations Packaged Gases (PAG) Intern will be based in Madrid, European Headquarters, and will be part of the PAGteam, reporting to the PAG, Specialty Gases& Dry Ice European Production Director.

Main Responsibilities

The selected intern will support strategic projects,strategic tools and automations being a link of packaged gases projects with ITand Digitalization Department.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the implementation of new plant automation projects aimed at improving operational efficiency, safety, and reliability.
  • Contributing to the development and enhancement of production planning and scheduling tools to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Identifying and supporting automation, digitalization, and data-driven improvement opportunities within the operations environment.
  • Collaborating with PAG team members on strategic and operational projects across the department.
  • Acting as a key interface between Operations, IT, and Digitalization teams to support the successful delivery of technology-driven initiatives.
  • Assisting in process analysis, performance monitoring, and the implementation of innovative solutions to improve plant operations.
Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Engineering degree inchemical engineering, industrial engineering or related field.
  • AI and digital productivity tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar)
  • Fluent English. Other European languages would bea plus.
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to takeinitiative.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

No prior professional experience required, althoughacademic projects or internships in analytics or data‑related roles will bevalued.
