IOM in Madrid seeks an interpreter/translator and intercultural mediator to facilitate communication between staff and migrants at a reception center.

Fluency in Arabic and Spanish is mandatory; knowledge of French and English is an asset. You will provide interpretation, translate documents, support protection, legal assistance and health teams, and help ensure migrants understand their rights and available services.

Formación

• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in standard software applications.
• Fluency in Arabic and Spanish is mandatory.
• Knowledge of French and English is an advantage.

Responsabilidades

• Interpretation and translation between staff and beneficiaries.
• Support protection, legal assistance, community engagement, health and centre management teams.
• Provide linguistic mediation in languages spoken by migrants.
• Inform staff about relevant cultural and social aspects; support interpretation with external providers.
• Identify and communicate beneficiary needs and contribute to conflict resolution due to language or cultural barriers.
