GMV in Madrid is offering an internship in Visual algorithms optimisation within the Defence and Security sector, focusing on navigation, guidance and positioning.

You will study and develop map-correlation algorithms for visual navigation, aiming to improve robustness under various camera orientations and geometric distortions in operational scenarios. Ideal candidates are Bachelor’s or Master’s students in STEM fields with a strong interest in computer vision and Python and/or C++.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree students in STEM fields with interest in visual navigation, computer vision and algorithm development.
• Knowledge of image processing, linear algebra, projective geometry and statistics.
• Experience or interest in programming with Python and/or C++.

WHAT CHALLENGE WILL YOU BE TAKING ON?

As part of our team, you will study and develop alternative map-correlation algorithms for visual navigation, aiming to improve their robustness under different camera orientations and geometric distortions in operational scenarios.

You will work on the study of map-correlation and image-to-map registration techniques, developing and evaluating matching algorithms using simulated data and data from real flight campaigns.

WHAT DO WE NEED IN OUR TEAM?

For this position, we are looking for Bachelor’s or Master’s degree students in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or related fields, with an interest in visual navigation, computer vision and algorithm development.

We will also value knowledge of image processing, linear algebra, projective geometry and statistics, as well as experience or an interest in programming with Python and/or C++.
