Job summary

MET Retail, the consumer-focused arm of MET Group, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer based in Madrid to lead financial, accounting, risk management and treasury activities. The role requires balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution in a lean, collaborative team.

The scope includes Spain at launch and potential multi-market expansion, with a digital engine serving all markets and strong emphasis on disciplined financial controls and scalable processes.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years in senior finance roles in BtoC energy sector.
• Solid understanding of IFRS, financial reporting and risk management.
• Ability to combine strategic thinking with a hands-on, business-oriented approach.
• Fluency in English and Spanish required.

Responsibilities

• Lead all financial, accounting, risk management and treasury activities with discipline and transparency.
• Act as strategic partner to local business and international management.
• Develop and execute financing strategy aligned with MET Retail growth plan.
• Oversee planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis, plus treasury and cash-flow planning.
• Provide financial insight to support commercial decisions, business development, and strategic initiatives.
• Oversee audit preparation and ensure timely, accurate financial audits.
