Job summary

MET Group's MET Retail unit is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead financial, accounting, risk management and treasury activities for the Spain launch and future multi-market expansion. The role is based in Madrid and balances strategic leadership with hands-on execution.

The ideal candidate has 6–8 years in senior finance within B2C, solid IFRS expertise, and the ability to build scalable processes and teams in a high-growth, energy-focused environment; fluency in English and Spanish is

Qualifications

• 6-8 years experience in senior finance roles in BtoC segment, with a strong background in the energy sector, other regulated market experiences, like telecommunication, banking could be also considered
• A solid understanding of IFRS, financial reporting and risk management is essential
• Ability to combine strategic thinking with a hands-on, business-oriented approach
• Fluency in both English and Spanish is required
• Experience building scalable systems, processes, and teams in a high-growth environment is an asset
• Excellent analytical and strategic-thinking abilities
• Entrepreneurial mindset, ability to blend traditional financial stewardship with the growth-driven, agile mindset

Responsibilities

• Lead all financial, accounting, risk management and treasurywith strong financial discipline and transparency
• Actingas a strategic partner to the local business and international management
• Develop and execute a financing strategy aligned with MET Retail' growthplan
• Overseeing all financial activities including planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. The role also involves managing treasury, liquidity, and cash-flow planning
• Provide financial insight to support commercial decisions, business development, and strategic initiatives, and to ensure that appropriate financial controls and risk-management frameworks are in place to support the commercial activities
• Oversee audit preparation and ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial audits
