Job summary

Chubb Madrid is seeking a Digital Team Leader to supervise and accelerate an AI-augmented underwriting operations team across online and submissions workflows. You will balance automated processes with human expertise, ensuring high quality, compliant, and client-focused outcomes.

You will drive performance improvements, coach staff in AI literacy, and manage risks while partnering with underwriters and other stakeholders to translate automation capabilities into practical, auditable results.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Underwriting Operations Technicians (Online and Submissions), balancing human expertise and AI capability.
• Manage work allocation across automated and human queues to optimize through-put and quality.
• Conduct performance reviews and develop human-in-the-loop judgment for auditable decisions.
• Maintain institutional knowledge as routine work shifts to automation and ensure expertise remains.
• Support AI literacy among team members as confident, critical users of the system.
• Oversee escalation paths to underwriters and specialist teams with full context.
• Collaborate with Head of Digital Operations on automation initiatives and governance.
• Provide management information on team and automation performance and trends.
• Build relationships with underwriters, brokers, and internal/external customers.
• Act as change champion to translate automation capabilities into clear team practices.
