Job summary

Ramboll Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join its Power Systems team, focusing on underground HV cable system design for international projects. You will contribute to concept studies, detailed design, and follow-on engineering across offshore wind and transition projects.

The role requires 2+ years of relevant experience, fluency in English, and a willingness to travel for site visits and factory inspections. We offer development opportunities and a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Completed university degree in Electrical Engineering
• 2+ years’ experience in underground HV cable system route design, civil works and installation, 66KV up to 400KV
• Experience in Cymcap or other cable rating software
• Experience working with cable-related international and local standards
• Fluent in English; Dutch and German languages are a plus
• Experience in cable accessories is a plus
• Junior/graduated candidates with cable system design experience welcomed

Responsibilities

• Reviewing project documents, gap analysis, and preparing technical reports
• Client and third party management (civil, substation, crossing, etc)
• Cable rating and thermal calculations
• Underground cable bonding design, jointing arrangement, assessing interface with transition joint bay, substation, and civil works
• Underground cable route development and installation strategy (e.g. direct burial, HDD and drilling, crossing design)
• Site visits prior to and during installation, commissioning support, cable factory visits and test inspection during cable manufacturing (traveling abroad may be required)
• Preparation of inspection and test plans, reviewing and evaluating test results, and involvement in non-conformities during manufacturing, installation and commissioning
