Job summary

Mercor is seeking a native Telugu speaker to join our document annotation project in a role focused on high-accuracy transcription and structure tagging of diverse Telugu documents. You will identify and bound all meaningful regions, ensure correct reading order, and faithfully reproduce Telugu text for complex layouts.

You will review work for accuracy and consistency, flag unreadable sections, and participate in a second-expert review process to maintain quality across hundreds of pages.

Qualifications

• Native Telugu speaker with full command of the Telugu script and orthography.
• Experience with documents: annotation, transcription, localization, subtitling, proofreading, journalism, or regional-language review.
• Exactness matters: character-level accuracy is crucial.
• Systematic: apply taxonomy consistently across hundreds of pages.
• Comfortable with unfamiliar layouts: multi-column layouts, tables, and handwritten content.

Responsibilities

• Open and check a task: verify Telugu content, legibility, real content, and absence of personal details.
• Annotate structure: bound every meaningful region and assign a type and reading-order index.
• Record relationships: link regions to the parent figure or table.
• Transcribe faithfully: reproduce Telugu text exactly, flag unreadable regions.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, source, dimensions, and flags.
• Review a colleague's work: second Telugu expert reviews every task.
