Job summary

Mercor seeks a native Telugu speaker to annotate real Telugu documents for AI training data, including multimodal pages with images, tables, and handwriting. You will ensure precise transcription and layout tagging on diverse sources.

You will identify and bound meaningful regions, assign types and reading order, and preserve exact Telugu text. Peer review by a Telugu expert ensures quality and consistency across hundreds of pages.

Qualifications

• Native Telugu speaker with full command of Telugu script and orthography.
• Experience in annotation, transcription, localization, or related fields.
• High accuracy with character-level transcription and diacritic correctness.
• Able to handle multi-column layouts, handwritten content, and diverse document types.

Responsibilities

• Source publicly accessible Telugu PDFs with multimodal content.
• Annotate page structure: bound regions, types, and reading order.
• Record relationships between regions and their parent figures/tables.
• Transcribe all Telugu text exactly, flag illegible regions.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, source, dimensions, and flags.
• Undergo second-expert review of all work.
