Job summary

Mercor is seeking detail-oriented Odia language annotators to work on a dataset for training document AI systems. You will identify and bound meaningful regions, transcribe text in Odia script, and ensure accurate reading order across complex layouts.

Ideal candidates are native Odia speakers with experience in annotation, transcription, localization, or QA, and a meticulous eye for diacritics and script forms.

Qualifications

• Native Odia speaker with full command of the script and orthography.
• Experience with annotation, transcription, localization, subtitling, proofreading or regional-language data review.
• Exactness and character-level accuracy are essential.

Responsibilities

• Open and check provided tasks to ensure pages are in Odia and legible.
• Annotate page structure and bound regions with type and reading order.
• Record relationships between regions and parent figures/tables.
• Transcribe faithfully in Odia script and flag illegible text.
• Capture page metadata and ensure review by a second Odia expert.
• Participate in end-to-end quality review of tasks.
