Job summary

JobCubby, on behalf of a partner company, seeks an Engineering Manager based in Denmark to lead a talented, globally distributed engineering team in a fully remote setting. You will blend technical judgment with people leadership to drive product value and high-quality software.

The role covers roadmap execution, architectural decisions, team development, and hiring, with emphasis on autonomy and asynchronous collaboration.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of engineering management experience.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and a background in either the Clojure ecosystem or frontend technologies such as React and TypeScript.
• Ability to fluently read and understand code and technical design documentation and participate meaningfully in technical discussions.
• Strong product sensibilities with ability to translate requirements into engineering solutions and identify risks.
• Proven ability to debug project execution and remove blockers across people, processes, scope, or implementation.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills in environments without rigid ladders or formal titles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, especially for asynchronous collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage and support a team of engineers to deliver high-quality features and improvements for users.
• Plan and execute the product roadmap with Product, Design, and Success stakeholders while balancing features and technical debt.
• Coach engineers and support their career development in a low-structure environment.
• Remove execution obstacles and continuously improve team processes and development practices.
• Hire, onboard, and develop high-caliber ICs while building a collaborative engineering culture.
