Vice President Debt Capital Markets - Frankfurt
Your role in the team:

Berenberg is looking to hire a Vice President to join its Frankfurt-based capital markets team to originate and execute debt‑and equity‑linked capital market transactions. The role will offer the candidate the possibility to drive the success of the debt capital markets team in a senior position and to become a key pillar of Berenberg’s capital markets franchise. Berenberg has rapidly grown to become one of the leading investment banks in Europe, with a particularly strong track record and brand name for capital market transactions for small and medium‑sized companies. The successful candidate will lead the origination and execution efforts of all debt capital markets and equity‑linked issuances. What will you do?
  • Leading the DCM origination by identifying business opportunities independently and in cooperation with the coverage team
  • Structuring and executing all DCM transactions
  • Closely interacting with fixed income sales and bond investors to analyse market sentiment and investor feedback
  • Supporting investment banking coverage team with fixed income analyses;
  • Leading the preparation of presentation materials, including pitch books and investor presentations for DCM transactions;
  • Acting as role model for and providing training and guidance to junior team members
Who are we looking for?
  • Between 7-10 years of experience within an investment bank and experience in originating and executing DCM and/or equity‑linked transactions;
  • Proven origination success and ambition to grow client network for origination efforts;
  • Excellent understanding of (Nordic) bonds, Schuldschein, private placements and convertible bonds;
  • Excellent academics – degree educated, ideally within the economics, finance or business fields;
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with an ability to think “outside the box”;
  • Impeccable communication skills allowing you to interact with clients, senior bankers and junior team members in an articulate and appropriate manner;
  • German and English language skills are essential
