POLARIS Raumflugzeuge GmbH in Bremen is seeking a Thermal Analysis and TPS Design Engineer (m/f/d) to advance thermal concepts for a two-staged hypersonic vehicle. You will lead thermal analysis, boundary conditions, and TPS design from draft to finished product, collaborating with design, systems, CFD, test and manufacturing teams.

The role requires a Master’s degree in aerospace or related field, strong thermal modelling skills, and experience in hypersonics.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in aerospace engineering, computational sciences or similar.
• Strong background in thermal modelling and analysis of aerospace systems.
• Experience with thermal management in hypersonics / atmospheric re-entry applications.
• Proficient understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer and radiation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and team-oriented mindset.

Aufgaben

• Perform thermal analysis of subsystems and the overall two-staged hypersonic vehicle.
• Run low- and high-fidelity analyses (FEM) and determine thermal loads.
• Define boundary conditions, load cases and thermal margins.
• Identify thermal risks and propose design optimizations.
• Translate results into technical solutions for TPS.
• Design Thermal Protection System (TPS) from draft to finished product.
• Define test samples, setups, and procedures with AIT department.
• Document models, assumptions, results and decisions.
• Collaborate with design, systems, CFD, test and manufacturing teams.

Depending on the area of responsibility, professional experience and specialist background, the gross annual salary ranges from EUR 60.000,00 to EUR 100.000,00.

The exact remuneration will be determined during the application process.

Your mission

• Thermal analysis of subsystems and overall system of a two-staged hypersonic vehicle
• Performing analysis using low-fidelity methods as well as high fidelity FEM
• Determine thermal loads on the vehicles outer surface as well as internally
• Define thermal boundary conditions, load cases and thermal margins
• Support subsystem design by identifying thermal risks and proposing optimization
• Translate analysis results into technical solutions
• Designing a Thermal Protection System (TPS) for the application on hypersonic winged vehicles from draft to finished product
• Define test samples, test set up, conditions and procedures in cooperation with the AIT department
• Document models, assumptions, results, and design decisions.
• Collaborate closely with design, systems, CFD, test, and manufacturing teams

Your profile

• Masters degree in aerospace engineering, computational sciences or similar
• Strong background in thermal modelling and analysis of aerospace systems
• Experience with thermal management in Hypersonics / atmospheric re-entry applications
• Profound understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat conduction, heat transfer and radiation
• Strong problem-solving skills
