BYD Europe in Magdeburg is seeking an After-sales Technical Support specialist for Utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). You will resolve commissioning and operation issues to ensure high availability and system stability.

You will maintain relationships with utility companies, IPPs, and EPC contractors, analyze performance data, and support field teams with HV training and safety protocols. Fluent German and English are required; DGUV Stufe 2 is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in utility-scale BESS projects.
• Familiar with PCS, BMS and EMS.
• Understanding of high- and medium-voltage distribution and general system troubleshooting.
• Fluent German and English.
• DGUV Stufe 2 qualification is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• After-sales Technical Support: In line with the company's overall strategy, resolve various technical issues that arise during the commissioning and operation of Utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Magdeburg, ensuring the high availability and stability of the systems.
• Customer Relationship Maintenance: Maintain professional communication with utility companies, IPPs, and EPC contractors. Promptly understand their technical requirements, handle performance-related feedback (e.g., Round-Trip Efficiency, system health), and improve key account satisfaction.
• Product Problem Solving: Assist the local after-sales team in analyzing and resolving complex quality problems in containerized energy storage solutions, including battery strings, liquid cooling units, and fire suppression systems. Formulate effective solutions and track the progress.
• Technical Training and Guidance: Provide local clients and O&M (Operation & Maintenance) teams with technical training on high-voltage system operation, EMS usage, and emergency response protocols.
• Feedback and Suggestions: Collect field data on BESS performance and grid interaction to provide valuable insights for the company's R&D regarding system integration and energy management strategies.
• Spare Parts Management: Coordinate with the warehouse for the logistics of large-scale components (e.g., power conversion modules, battery clusters) and manage the repair or replacement of damaged units on-site.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required

• Industry Experience: Have work experience in the Utility-scale BESS.
• Technical Knowledge: Be familiar with large-capacity PCS (Power Conversion Systems), BMS, EMS. Have basic knowledge of medium-to-high voltage power distribution and the ability to independently troubleshoot system-level failures.
• Regulatory Understanding: Be familiar with safety regulations for large energy storage installations.
• Language: fluent in German, English.
• DGUV Stufe 2 qualification (Qualified Electrician for High-Voltage Systems in Professional Environments) is a strong plus.
