Job summary

NAXCON GmbH in Germany is seeking a Technical Project Manager for Machine Development to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex machinery projects in our semiconductor portfolio. This on-site role requires hands-on leadership, strong coordination with suppliers, process departments, and production facilities.

You will manage schedules, costs, and quality, ensure safety and CE compliance, and drive handovers to operations with comprehensive documentation and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or similar.
• Several years of project management or machine commissioning experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical and plant engineering, utilities, control and safety systems.
• Good German and English, onsite presence required.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects for machinery development, delivery, installation, and commissioning.
• Coordinate suppliers, freight forwarders, contractors, and internal teams.
• Monitor schedules, costs, and quality; oversee production hall logistics.
• Lead milestones, FAT/SAT checks, and handover to operations with docs and training.

Tasks

• Project management (responsibility for machinery) for the development, delivery, installation, and commissioning of equipment in the production facilities
• Coordination and oversight of suppliers, freight forwarders, installation contractors, and internal departments (e.g., process development, facility management, production, maintenance, EHS)
• Monitoring project schedules, costs, and quality. Planning and overseeing production hall logistics (transport routes, use of cranes and lifting equipment, utility connections, foundations)
• Executing or overseeing project milestones and acceptance tests (e.g., FAT/SAT) and ensuring a structured handover to operations, including documentation and training
• Preparation and maintenance of project plans, reports, and handover documents
• Compliance with occupational safety, environmental regulations, and legal requirements (e.g., CE conformity, Industrial Safety Ordinance)

Requirements

• A completed technical college degree (Bachelor's/Master's/Diploma) in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a comparable field
• Several years of professional experience in project management or the commissioning of machines and systems, ideally in a manufacturing environment
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical and plant engineering, utility supply, and control and safety systems
• Experience with project management methods (e.g., PMI, IPMA, agile/hybrid approaches) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project) is a plus
• Understanding of standards and regulations (CE, Machinery Directive, DGUV, occupational safety)
• Proficiency with MS Office; SAP knowledge is a plus
• Very good German and good English skills (spoken and written)
• Strong on-site presence and assertiveness, hands‑on mentality
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, even when coordinating among multiple stakeholders
• A structured, independent, and solution‑oriented approach to work
• Ability to handle pressure and be flexible, even when deadlines are tight
• Ability to work well in a team and a strong sense of responsibility
• General Conditions: Regular work in manufacturing and on construction sites or in production facilities
• Willingness to travel occasionally on business (e.g., to suppliers for inspections)
