NAXCON GmbH in Bremen, Germany seeks a Design Engineer to develop electromechanical components and assemblies, adhering to quality, schedule, and cost targets. You will create 3D concepts, reuse existing components, and interface with suppliers and customers as the technical lead.

The role requires basic 3D CAD experience (Siemens NX), SAP PLM proficiency, and good English and German communication skills. You will collaborate across disciplines and contribute to series production readiness.

Position: Design Engineer

Location: Bremen, Germany

Tasks:

• Developing electromechanical components, assemblies, and, in some cases, simple segments in accordance with requirements and manufacturing constraints, while meeting quality, schedule, and cost targets, using CAD tools by:
• Analyzing high-level requirements and creating a 3D implementation concept
• Developing manufacturing-friendly design solutions while taking into account the reuse of existing components
• Assisting with the estimation of development and manufacturing costs for the unit under your responsibility
• Designing and selecting suitable standard and purchased parts for the unit under your responsibility
• Coordinating interfaces with other internal departments and externally with suppliers and customers, ensuring binding agreements
• Participating in the selection of manufacturing suppliers and supporting the procurement process as the technical point of contact
• Technical review of the prepared, standards-compliant technical product specifications
• Processing product data in SAP PLM
• Managing subcontractors commissioned for development and/or manufacturing
• Planning, managing, and overseeing integration activities for the first article
• Participating in customer qualification and acceptance for the unit under your responsibility
• Conducting requested inspections and tests for the unit under your responsibility during development (engineering tests)
• Supporting and reviewing external customer technical documentation for the unit under your responsibility
• Carrying out the preparation for series production of the unit under your responsibility, including preparatory work for test readiness and the start of series production
• Assisting with bid preparation

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, precision engineering, mechatronics, or a comparable field
• Basic design experience in mechanical or plant engineering
• Basic professional experience in 3D CAD design (preferably Siemens NX)
• Proficiency in SAP PLM
• Understanding of mechanical engineering, optics, and electrical engineering
• Proficiency in the areas of design, mechanics, and materials science
• Proficiency in MS Windows and MS Office applications
• Good written and spoken English and German skills
• Time- and cost-conscious work style
