ALTEN Consulting Services GmbH is seeking a data engineering specialist to join our Erlangen team. You will monitor Snowflake databases, data pipelines, and dbt transformations, investigate data incidents, and drive end-to-end data solutions with SAP, AWS, and business teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on production troubleshooting in data engineering or technical data platforms.
• Strong SQL, Snowflake, dbt, ETL/ELT, data modeling, and data quality validation.
• Experience with REST APIs, OData, HTTP, JSON/XML, and API testing tools such as Postman.
• Familiarity with Git, GitLab CI/CD, and deployment across dev, test, prod environments.
• Analytical, technically driven, and able to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.
• Fluent English; SAP procurement data, AWS services (S3, API Gateway, Aurora), or Python scripting is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Monitor and support Snowflake databases, data pipelines, dbt transformations, and data quality processes.
• Investigate and resolve data-related incidents by tracing data flows across SAP, Snowflake, dbt, Aurora, and downstream apps.
• Troubleshoot SQL queries, transformation logic, failed dbt models, REST APIs, OData integrations, and cloud provisioning processes.
• Implement, test, and deploy data-layer fixes via CI/CD while ensuring production stability.
• Collaborate with development, platform, AWS, and business teams to resolve issues and communicate progress.
• Document root causes, corrective actions, and best practices; continuously improve monitoring, automation, and support.

• bring multiple years of experience in Data Engineering or technical data platform support, including hands-on production troubleshooting
• possess strong expertise in SQL, Snowflake, dbt, ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and data quality validation
• have solid experience working with REST APIs, OData V2, HTTP, JSON/XML, and API testing tools such as Postman
• are familiar with Git, GitLab CI/CD, and the implementation and deployment of fixes across development, test, and production environments
• demonstrate strong analytical skills, technical ownership, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
• have fluent English language skills; experience with SAP procurement data, AWS services (S3, API Gateway, Aurora), or Python scripting is considered an advantage
