Job summary

CHEP is seeking a seasoned supply chain planner/manager to optimize inventory across plants and drive cost-efficient inbound, outbound, and relocation logistics in a hybrid work setup in Germany. The role collaborates with transport teams to ensure the right stock mix while meeting financial and compliance goals.

You will lead continuous improvement projects, advance KPI reporting, and partner with regional teams to balance pools and maximize plant capacities.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years planning, operations, logistics experience.
  • Fluent English and German required; other European languages nice to have.
  • Exceptional project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage plant-level safety stock policies to balance inventory and maximize plant capacities.
  • Oversee short- and mid-term optimization of inbound, outbound, and relocation logistics for cost to serve and efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with transportation and logistics teams to move stock efficiently from origin to destination.
  • Ensure financial and compliance goals align with the strategic supply chain plan.
  • Partner with logistics teams to meet inventory and customer service objectives.
  • Manage pool balancing by relocating surplus stock to deficit markets across regions.
  • Monitor and report KPIs to supply chain leadership on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and operational excellence.
