Job summary

actana-consulting in München is looking for an experienced engineer specializing in stress analysis of metallic and composite structures. The role involves conducting stress analysis, writing technical reports, and collaborating with various departments to ensure compliance and quality.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in aeronautical engineering or equivalent, with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on engineering experience in stress analysis. Knowledge of German is a plus while strong English skills are required.

Job description

Tasks

• Stress analysis of metallic or composite primary and secondary components by means of hand calculations and/or FEM
• Write structural substantiation reports that meet the technical requirements of the program and certifying authority
• Liaise, manage and provide technical direction to offsite suppliers
• Provide stress support to other areas of the organization, including Design, Production, Flight Test, Quality Assurance and Airworthiness
• Ensure that the technical content, quality, compliance and safety aspects of any technical data is documented in accordance with internal standards and guidelines

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of the fundamental principles of stress analysis of metallic and composite structures
• Good understanding of aircraft structural load paths and experience with analysis methodologies for various primary and secondary structural components
• Capability to set-up an FE model based on DMU or design principles
• Advanced skills with Nastran, Hypermesh and Patran (pre/post processors & solvers)
• Experience with classic hand calculation stress methods (e.g. HSB, Bruhn, ESDU, Roark & Young)
• Capable of working to deadlines and following internal calculation procedures
• Ability to work independently and multitask efficiently
• Understanding of civil aircraft certification rules and experience in certification procedures (ideally JAR/CS/FAR 23)
• Strong motivation and enthusiasm to achieve company goals and objectives
• Ability to work on details while keeping the big picture in mind
• Very good knowledge of spoken and written English; German is a plus
• Experience with Fatigue & DT analysis of airframe components is a plus
• Experience using Siemens Teamcenter PLM Software (version 10.x) is a plus
• Master’s degree in aeronautical engineering or equivalent education/experience in the aeronautical industry
• Minimum of 7 years engineering experience in stress analysis
