IT provides the information systems that underpin all RWE’s trading, origination and optimization activities across the globe. We provide operational support to all departments and we deliver new projects and changes to existing applications.

CAO CE Embedded IT is all about commercially optimizing RWE’s production assets. One fundamental part is to make the most out of what we have at our disposal. Where in the past these were big powerplants we are now changing into a more diverse portfolio with lots of new challenges and opportunity of optimization.

Your responsibilities

• Join our dynamic team at the heart of RWE's assets and marketing platform on the largest Energy Trading Floor.
• In an international setting, you'll manage and enhance the different SCADA system, their infrastructure and interfaces, both internal and external.
• Contribute to developing PLC functionalities for controlling various generation units.
• Translate diverse departmental requirements into functional IT specifications.
• Redefine internal customer interactions and foster a collaborative work environment while improving and developing of new business functionality.
• Drive RWE's transformation towards decentralized generation units with cutting-edge cloud-based control systems.
• Implement RWEST IT's strategic goals to boost application robustness, reduce legacy issues, and enhance IT department collaboration.

Profile

• Experience in managing a complex SCADA application landscape hosted on various operating systems such as Windows or Solaris.
• Knowledge of various programming languages such as C# .NET as well as scripting languages like Kornshell or Powershell.
• Proficient in implementing controls in PLC systems, e.g. SAE IT-Systems or Bachmann electronic.
• Strong knowledge of networking technologies and their configuration including industrial communication standards (e.g., Modbus, IEC 60870-5-104) to ensure seamless communication within SCADA systems.
• Experienced in implementing cybersecurity measures to protect SCADA systems from cyber threats as well as supporting an ISMS (ISO 27001)
• Experience with cloud technologies in AWS, including their architecture and applications as well as container technologies (e.g. AWS EKS, Docker)
• Working knowledge of CI/CD via Azure DevOps utilizing infrastructure as code (Terraform)
• Proficient in English and German

Advantageous, but not a must

• Knowledge with modern monitoring and observability tools (e.g. ELK stack)
