Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is seeking a Grid Connection Manager in Frankfurt to take ownership of grid connection activities across a portfolio of renewable energy and energy storage projects. You will work with development, engineering and investment teams, and interface with German grid operators to develop strategies and navigate technical requirements.

Qualifications

We are working with a rapidly growing renewable energy and energy storage developer with significant infrastructure backing and funding.

The company has already established a strong presence in Germany, with a large local team and an ambitious pipeline of renewable energy and BESS projects.

Due to continued growth, they are now expanding their grid connection team, with multiple senior hires planned across Germany.

The Role

As a Grid Connection Manager, you will take ownership of grid connection activities across a portfolio of renewable energy and energy storage projects.

You will work closely with project development, engineering, commercial and investment teams, while acting as a key interface with German grid operators.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing grid connection activities from early development through to connection
• Developing and executing grid connection strategies for renewable energy and BESS projects
• Managing relationships with TSOs, DSOs and other grid stakeholders
• Leading technical discussions and negotiations around grid connection
• Assessing grid capacity, connection options and technical requirements
• Coordinating grid studies, connection applications and technical documentation
• Working closely with engineering teams on substations, grid infrastructure and connection solutions
• Identifying grid risks and opportunities across the development portfolio
• Supporting project development and investment decisions with your grid expertise
• Managing external consultants and technical advisors where required
• Contributing to the continued development of the company's grid connection strategy and processes

What We're Looking For

• Several years' experience in grid connection / grid infrastructure within Germany
• Electrical engineering or a related technical background
• Strong understanding of the German electricity grid and connection processes
• Experience working directly with TSOs and/or DSOs
• Experience with renewable energy, BESS or other large-scale energy infrastructure
• Comfortable discussing technical topics with grid operators and engineering teams
• Strong project management and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex grid issues
• Fluent German and good English
