Job summary

Mint Selection Ltd is seeking a Grid Connection Manager in Berlin to lead end-to-end grid connection activities for utility-scale BESS projects within a hybrid work setup. You will interact with TSOs/DSOs and internal teams to ensure successful connections, from feasibility and design to Ready-to-Build.

The role requires 4+ years in utility-scale grid connections, strong knowledge of grid codes, and fluency in German and English.

Qualifications

• Fluent German and English required.
• Strong communication skills and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Relevant degree or professional certification in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of grid connection activities for utility-scale BESS projects, from feasibility through Ready-to-Build.
• Prepare and review grid connection applications, SLDs and power system studies using DIgSILENT PowerFactory and MATLAB.
• Engage with TSOs, DSOs and stakeholders to assess and secure optimal points of connection while managing technical, commercial and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee end-to-end delivery of grid connection and HV substation works, coordinating engineering, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Take ownership of project programme, budgets, risks, changes and HSE compliance.
• Support the Grid Compliance Manager and delegate tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of grid connection activities for utility-scale BESS projects, from initial feasibility, planning and design through to Ready-to-Build (RTB).
• Prepare and review grid connection applications, compliance assessments, single-line diagrams (SLDs) and power system studies using DIgSILENT PowerFactory and MATLAB, ensuring compliance with applicable grid codes and technical standards.
• Engage directly with TSOs, DSOs and other key stakeholders to assess and secure optimal points of connection, managing technical, commercial and regulatory requirements throughout project development.
• Oversee the end-to-end delivery of grid connection and HV substation works, coordinating engineering, construction, commissioning and handover, while managing interfaces between network operators, contractors and internal teams.
• Take ownership of project programme, budgets, risks, changes and HSE compliance, ensuring grid connection projects are delivered safely, on schedule and within agreed budgets.
• Support the Grid Compliance Manager and take responsibility for delegating tasks.

Experience & Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in utility-scale grid connections, with a strong focus on renewable energy (wind, solar, storage is preferred).
• Strong network with contacts at TSOs, and a proven ability to negotiate with them regarding grid connection.
• Experience with grid infrastructure such as high-voltage substations, transformers, switchgear, cable routing, single-line-diagrams (SLDs).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Relevant degree or professional certification in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
• Fluent German and Fluent English are required.
