Grid Connection Manager (Electrical Engineering)

We are seeking a Grid Connection Manager to lead and manage all aspects of grid connection for our utility-scale renewable energy projects. You will be the key interface between our engineering teams, project managers, and grid operators, ensuring our projects are connected on time, on budget, and to the highest technical and regulatory standards.

As a full project specialist they are able to develop, engineer, construct and manage all client assets across Solar PV, BESS & Wind, focussed (almost) entirely around Utility Scale/ Grid integrated applications, projects are generally between 5MW-100MW.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the grid connection process from project inception through to energisation for large-scale PV and renewable energy projects.
• Liaise with Transmission System Operators (TSOs), Distribution System Operators (DSOs), and other stakeholders to secure grid connection agreements.
• Review and interpret grid connection requirements, technical standards, and regulatory obligations in Germany.
• Manage technical design inputs to ensure compliance with grid codes and project specifications.
• Oversee the planning, permitting, and execution of grid connection works, including substations and cabling.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external contractors to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and mitigation measures.
• Ensure all works comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Maintain strong relationships with grid operators and regulatory authorities.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related discipline.
• Proven experience managing grid connection for utility-scale renewable projects in Germany.
• Strong knowledge of German grid codes and relevant legislation.
• Excellent communication skills in German and English.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel within Germany as required.
