Job summary

Siemens in Erlangen seeks a Consultant in Digital Engineering to bridge engineering, digital transformation and manufacturing excellence. You will guide global clients to optimize engineering across the product lifecycle, leveraging digital twins and AI to drive value.

Expect an academically strong background, proven consulting experience, and the ability to work across international teams, travel as needed, and communicate fluently in English.

Qualifications

• Outstanding academic background (MSc/MEng/PhD/Dr.-Ing) or equivalent.
• Experience in digital engineering and digital twins, ideally with industry exposure.
• Experience in consulting and guiding customers on digital transformation.
• Ability to design and implement PLM and digital engineering solutions with measurable impact.
• International exposure through career, studies, or internships.
• Willingness to travel for international consulting projects.
• Fluent in English at C1 level; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of interdisciplinary and international R&D and engineering projects, collaborating with customer management and manufacturing.
• Analyze customer needs and identify innovative digital transformation solutions for engineering and product development.
• Design and implement tailored transformation strategies and roadmaps for engineering with client collaboration.
• Coordinate Siemens stakeholders to turn roadmaps into reality and strengthen customer relationships.
• Optimize end-to-end value chains across automotive, industrial manufacturing, and medical tech sectors.
• Continuously contribute to expanding Siemens consulting portfolio and anticipating future needs.

Your role will focus on helping global industrial clients optimize engineering across the entire product lifecycle, from initial ideation and development to manufacturing and in-service use, leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as digital twins and AI.

How you'll make an impact

This is how you'll win us over

• You have an outstanding academic background, such as an M.Sc., M.Eng., Ph.D., or Dr.-Ing. in an engineering discipline (e.g., mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or similar). Alternatively, you hold a B.Sc. or B.Eng. combined with extensive relevant work experience.
• You bring relevant experience in digital engineering and digital twins, ideally including industry experience and a solid understanding of engineering and PLM processes.
• You have gained consulting experience throughout your career and are able to guide our customers on their digital transformation journey.
• You combine strategic thinking with hands-on consulting expertise to design and implement PLM and digital engineering solutions that deliver measurable business impact.
• You have gained exposure to international environments through your professional career, studies, or internships.
• You are passionate about building trusted client relationships and are comfortable traveling to customer sites in the context of international consulting projects.
• You are fluent in English (minimum C1 level). Fluency in Germ an is an advantage.
